FOR DAD

We had an angel in our midst, with wings you could not see
A heart of gold and gentle man, who was always there for me

His eyes they twinkled and smile was grand
He had great strength, but a gentle hand

He was so loving and kind in every way,
And knew his God and prayed each day

We nearly lost him several times, to world war and disease
God smiled on him and allowed him to stay, for it was the Lord he was to please

His wealth was nor possessions or money, I know
But he was rich in friends and family and those he touched here below

That terrible day he fell at my side,
God knew I would stand between him and his heavenly guide

God gave me strength to breathe life back in
He was given a little more time to prepare for Him

He gave all he had to his family of seven
and I long for the day reunited in Heaven

Losing Dad has taken it's toll
For the pain in my heart runs through to my soul

We shared so many special things my Dad and me
And he will live on in my heart and memory

I see this life now in shades of gray
Maybe God will allow me to see color one day

God picked a precious flower from this earth, one I can no longer see
The greatest man I ever knew, my Dad, earned his heavenly wings for all eternity

I have a new angel at my side, one I cannot see
But I know it is my Dad who is there to comfort me

My Dad is part of me and there he will remain
Until he comes to take me to my Lord's heavenly domain.

Poem - by Maureen Crawford Crockett

NOT FOR JUST AN HOUR
NOT FOR JUST A DAY
NOT FOR JUST A YEAR
BUT ALWAYS !!

We may not have it altogether, but together we have it all.
