Following World War II, advanced technology moved television from a "science-fiction" dream to a reality&emdash;providing a major source of news and entertainment. Adventist pastors in Baltimore and San Francisco began experimental programs, but it was William Fagal's Faith for Today in New York City that was adopted as the church's major effort to expoit the new medium. Fagal's first half-hour telecast aired on May 21, 1950. It drew 66 letters, most requesting the free Bible course which had been offered.
